The Customer has facilities worldwide with large, complex petrochemical operations. A loss of containment or other accident could lead to an explosions delivering blast waves with long duration positive pressure phase and a long duration negative phase. The customer and their insurance company were not comfortable with blast valves/dampers on the market .
